The Northern Zone competition caters for Adult Club volleyball teams from Taupo northward. It serves as the qualification tournament and provides seedings from the region for the National Club Championships each year.
The Northern Zone is due to start May 22nd 2010, and will run through til Mid August, 8 men's and 8 women's teams will start, this will be increased to 10 after the 1st round robin. The top 4 teams make a pool. The bottom 4 plus the top 2 div 2 teams make a pool of 6.
Tauranga Volleyball Club has a men's and women's team competing in this years premier league.

19-05-10 The 2010 Northern league gets underway this weekend with Tauranga Men's and Women's both travelling to Otara to play 2 games. The men's team will play Harbour Raiders and Waitakere Rebels, the women's team will play Manukau South A and B. Click on the draw above for game times.
15-07-09 The second round of the Northern Zone League starts this Saturday. Te Puke Women and Tauranga Women's B will both face Waitakere and Sth Auckland. Tauranga Men's A and Tauranga Men's B will both face Waitakere, Sth Auckland B and Norths (Whangerei). Tauranga Women's A will face Sparta A and Manukau Sth A. 29-06-09 Tauranga Women's A picked up 2 wins from 2 matches in Hamilton this weekend. Firstly they were pushed hard by Manukau South A, winning 3 sets to 2. The second game was more comfortable defeating Waitakere 3 sets to 0.
23-06-09 Tauranga Women's A are playing at Fairfield College in Hamilton this Saturday. Their first game is against Manukau South at 10am and their second game is against Waitakere at 2.30pm. The team will be back to full strength this weekend and will be looking for 2 big wins.
15-06-09 Tauranga Men's A had a disappointing day on Saturday. Firstly losing in a close 3 set match to Playaz, with the team having chances to win the first 2 sets. In the second game Tauranga Men's A was convincingly beaten by an experienced South Auckland team. Tauranga's final match of the first round is against Waitakere on July 4th.
11-06-09 Tauranga Men's A will travel to Hamilton this Saturday to face off against South Auckland A and Playaz. All 3 teams are sitting on the edge of the crucial top 4 and will be giving it everything to pick up 2 wins this weekend. Tauranga play at 11.30am against Playaz, then 1pm against Sth Auckland, both games are at Fairfield College. Tauranga Women's A play next on June 27th.
25-05-09 Tauranga men record their first win of the season defeating Hamilton men 3-0, while Tauranga women were over powered by Hamilton women 3-2 to record their first loss of the 09 season.
04-05-09 Tauranga women made a perfect start to the 2009 league with 3-0 wins over North Harbour Raiders and Sparta (Akld).
04-05-09 Tauranga men didn't fair as well in the first weekend of competition. Competing against North Harbour Raiders (NZ's top ranked team) Tauranga lost 0-3. In the 2nd game of the day against Sparta (NZ's 3rd ranked team) Tauranga competed strongly, finally losing in 5 sets.
