General Information


Divisions:

Teams are seeded into groups of 32 and pools of 4 for the start of the tournament.

After each team plays 3 pool games, the top 2 teams in each pool are sorted into the top 16 and the bottom 2 teams into the bottom 16 and again in pools of 4. These groups of 16 become the tournament divisions e.g. top 16 of the top 32 teams is Division 1. Bottom 16 of the top 32 teams is Division 2. Top 16 of the second 32 teams is Division 3 and so on. 

All teams play another 3 pool games and are then split in half again for the post-section elimination games.


Social:

There will be no social this year due to Covid-19 minimisation protocols.

Tournament Details

Date and time: Saturday the 26th of November. All day tournament 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Divisions: 

2 A-side - Boys Year 9 and 10, Girls Year 9 and 10

4 A-side - Boys and Girls (Subject to sufficient entries)

Seedings: Every team entry must be ranked in order (I.e 1-10) by your respective school coach and/or manager. Seedings will be made based on the 2021 NIJSSBVC results, as well as the rankings given by school coaches/managers.

Format: 2 aside beach volleyball, starting in pool play and moving into semi's and final's.

Schedule:

  • 8:00am-8:30am Check-In at Main Tent on Mount Maunganui Main Beach, Marine Parade, Commons Ave
  • 8:30am-8:50am Technical Meeting - At least one adult representative from each school for each divison, must be present at this meeting.
  • 9:00am-1:00pm First games begin. Pool play. 
  • 1:00pm-3:30pm Play-offs, Semi-Finals, and Finals
  • 3:30pm-4:00pm Prize-giving; Girls Year 9, Boys Year 9, Girls Year 10, Boys Year 10.

Cost: 

2 A-side $60 per team ($30 per player)

4 A-side $120 per team ($30 per player)
