Tauranga Volleyball Club was established in 1974 after the popularity of school volleyball in the region in the early 70's.
In 2010 the women's team won the national title without dropping a set all tournament. They are looking to defend that title this year in Wellington.
The Club currently has 1 mens and 2 womens teams competing in the Northern Zone and Midlands League.
